Remembrance Day Poppy Appeal

We were very aware that this year because of the necessary restrictions that Covid19 has brought into play that there would be no centrally organised Remembrance events this year.

Coupled with this we are also aware that as there are no War Memorials within our ward there is no natural place to remember lost loved ones. In an effort to try and bridge this gap we thought we would buy two silent soldiers. One is positioned by the library at Tattenham Corner and the other one will be sited by the shops in Marbles Way.

We will also be laying wreaths next to the soldiers sometime between the 8th November and the 11th but will not be advertising the times as unfortunately we don’t want to encourage a gathering.

Our thoughts will be with you all as you remember the lives lost, and life changing injuries that have been inflicted, during loved ones involvement in the various theatres of war, past and present.
